An unexpectedly hard shot by Christopher Mungai in the 7th minute of play forced Catarinense F.C.'s goalkeeper José Chilavert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was a well-played corner which Fernando Gabirel managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Catarinense F.C.'s Fernando Gabirel was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Abdallah Ali Maina in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
