After having played for 11 minutes, Prospero Fonticoba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. JM Don Vidales 62's supporters crossed their fingers, but Prospero Fonticoba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Javier Solana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Cristian Sancho sped through JM Don Vidales 62's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Javier Solana. After a defensive mix-up in JM Don Vidales 62's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Javier Solana came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Javier Solana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Javier Solana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The JM Don Vidales 62 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Javier Solana should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hitzeder Ledo to make the kick off. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Javier Solana made a huge save. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by JM Don Vidales 62's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Antonio Arias managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind JM Don Vidales 62's goalkeeper Javier Solana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 57th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. With a little luck, JM Don Vidales 62's Javier Solana got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
