After 29 minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 32nd minute of play forced CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Severino Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Clemente Prestes to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE got a freekick which was hit by Marcelinho Ramalho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Prestes in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Clemente Prestes's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Severino Madureira. That made the score 0-3 in the 61 minute of play. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severino Madureira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Severino Madureira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 70th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Severino Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
