Miguel Van Mechelen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Valentín Carvallo made in the 19th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by YR Mechelen's Jamie Van Mechelen. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye YR Mechelen's goalie prevented a goal. Sebastian Villa's late challenge caught a YR Mechelen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Villa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Sebastian Villa hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the game, Joery Van Mechelen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Van Mechelen in the 29th minute of play. 30 minutes into the game, Miguel Van Mechelen lined in a short shot 3-0 behind a frustrated Lautaro Navarro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Van Mechelen in the 38th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miguel Van Mechelen. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

After 59 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Moises Tafalla. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Van Mechelen in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 61 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Van Mechelen in the 63rd minute of the match. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Joery Van Mechelen hit a great ball. Andries Mangelschot hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. 66 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Andries Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Honduras defense, Miguel Van Mechelen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. The Honduras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lautaro Navarro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andries Van Mechelen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andries Van Mechelen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leo Van Mechelen charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leo Van Mechelen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Andries Van Mechelen made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Luca Espinar sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Honduras booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Christian Sancho in the 92nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by YR Mechelen's Joery Van Mechelen. The YR Mechelen players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
