Roland Renoux scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. In the 13th minute, Lautaro Puig got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Galsino Vilanova was extremely unlucky when he, in the 17th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roland Renoux's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Roland Renoux got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 3-0. Alexander Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Glauke Mihas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roland Renoux to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Galsino Vilanova kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zhang Ang Zhen went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-0 was the resulting score. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Roland Renoux put it in 9-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. In the 94th minute, Galsino Vilanova ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 10-0. HORTALEZA FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
