The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Eliseo Mano blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Mano in the 17th minute of the match. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feručo Camlek, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Fajteri's Eliseo Mano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Thomas Filipović managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fajteri's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Filipović was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Mano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 26th minute, Eliseo Mano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Eliseo Mano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Eliseo Mano kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Eliseo Mano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 47thth minute of the game Eliseo Mano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eliseo Mano to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Eliseo Mano went, in the 58th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Axel Tasis during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Efrain Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 64th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Efrain Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 64th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. If Eliseo Mano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 68 minutes of play, Fajteri's Armando Vogrinčič made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Armando Vogrinčič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fajteri's Armando Vogrinčič managed to work through Costa Rica's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Armando Vogrinčič dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 73rd minute, Efrain Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Armando Vogrinčič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Vogrinčič in the 76th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 78 minutes of play, Fajteri's Armando Vogrinčič made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 82 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Vogrinčič came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armando Vogrinčič struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fajteri. The supporters of Fajteri booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Vogrinčič in the 86th minute of play. In the 87th minute, Armando Vogrinčič ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. In the 91st minute, Armando Vogrinčič left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fajteri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. There was no doubt that Fajteri were the better team. Fajteri's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
