Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 5th minute of play forced Odeweg FSV's goalkeeper Herminio Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Odeweg FSV's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. Fredy Brusberg thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Herminio Iztal, a very annoying self made goal in the 8th minute which led to 0-1. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herminio Iztal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 22nd minute of play forced Odeweg FSV's goalkeeper Herminio Iztal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eckehard Deckert in the 25th minute. After 28 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Odeweg FSV! The referee gave Venezuela a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomas Illescas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal. 0-2. Takeshi Schreiber could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Odeweg FSV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fredy Brusberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herminio Iztal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 44th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Eckehard Deckert made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eckehard Deckert, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 53rd play minutes Eckehard Deckert shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Herminio Iztal having to make a save. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Herminio Iztal made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Timo Böhm during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Fredy Brusberg kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 71 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 72nd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute of the match Conrad Furesi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 78 minutes, Conrad Furesi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Odeweg FSV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conrad Furesi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 86th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Herminio Iztal saved Odeweg FSV from getting behind. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Herminio Iztal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 92nd minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Odeweg FSV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Odeweg FSV booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Secada didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Odeweg FSV's Herminio Iztal got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
