Eddie Van Halen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eddie Van Halen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Independiente's Eddie Van Halen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 36th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kevin Mastache to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Manzanares made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when 肖希谦 sent off a good shot on target. In the 44th minute of the match Independiente got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Massimo Ruggeri ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Senen got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute Fulgencio Senen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abram Sarmiento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gabirel Christbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fulgencio Senen in the 53rd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 54th minute of the match, Abram Sarmiento tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Eddie Van Halen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 65th minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Orlando Tafalla hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Massimo Ruggeri sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Colombia's Pedro Manzanares didn't even have to move. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Senen in the 69th minute of play. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 肖希谦 in the 71st minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when 袁风奕 came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fulgencio Senen scored 3-2 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 79 minutes of play, Colombia's Abram Secada made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eddie Van Halen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ignacio Mastache recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Abram Secada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Fulgencio Senen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Fulgencio Senen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
