Birrell Watman charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Birrell Watman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Gustaw Fafinski made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gianluca Scamacca in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Stig Rødal made a great header on KS Lechia Gdańsk S.A's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After having played for 95 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
