Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 10th minute. It was a well-played corner which Luca Zorita managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Alberto Tafalla hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. When Lautaro Mancebo came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lautaro Mancebo couldn't finish the play. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Beto Hermes sent off a good shot on target. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Efrain Salamon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Celtic FC.
