Ferdinando Scarinci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 7th minute of the match. The Velester Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Velester Football Club's Adriano Carafa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 14thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Velester Football Club's Ferdinando Scarinci was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jose Manzanedo made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Velester Football Club's Stephan Wehkamp. Ferdinando Scarinci showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Fontirroig in the 20th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ferdinando Scarinci made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The audience was convinced that Mariano Lacasa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ferdinando Scarinci was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdinando Scarinci read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Mariano Lacasa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ferdinando Scarinci. Velester Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariano Lacasa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Comunardo Valente to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Adriano Carafa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Velester Football Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Francisco Carballar fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ferdinando Scarinci quite easily take care of the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Chile got a corner. Velester Football Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Chile's Francisco Carballar to a score. 3-5 in the 64th minute. Velester Football Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Emanuel Gliga in the 73rd minute. Velester Football Club's Emanuel Gliga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Thiago Pliego in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 73rd minute, Anselmo Baleren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 75 minutes into the match, Velester Football Club's goalkeeper Ferdinando Scarinci had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guillermo Fontirroig. Comunardo Valente blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thiago Pliego having to make a save. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Comunardo Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Ferdinando Scarinci in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Francisco Carballar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Ferdinando Scarinci made a huge save. In the 85th minute Comunardo Valente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Velester Football Club booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Chile's Felix Garrido got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Chile's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
