Mexico were awarded a corner in the 5th minute after Alexandrie CF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Mexico's Facundo Cadaval was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matthias Brandin in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 9 minutes into the match, Francisco Conceicão dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa, 1-0. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Brandin having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Conceicão kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. Matthias Brandin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 18th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Alexandrie CF's Ignacio Horado got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Brandin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matthias Brandin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Alexandrie CF's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Matthias Brandin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Ruslan Tikhonov tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ruslan Tikhonov came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Alexandrie CF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruslan Tikhonov couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Conceicão was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matthias Brandin. That made the score 2-2 after 52 minutes of play. 54 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matthias Brandin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. Luca Rouco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luca Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matthias Brandin having to make a save. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ruslan Tikhonov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Brandin having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ruslan Tikhonov came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matthias Brandin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 81st minute of the match. Matthias Brandin made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Alberto Tafalla sent off a good shot on target. In the 89th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Alexandrie CF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Lautaro Mancebo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Matthias Brandin quite easily take care of the ball. In the 91st minute, Wang Guang Chuan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-4. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateus Uribe in the 94th minute of play. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
