But to his dismay, Eliseo Mina quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luis Nardo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Julian Murillo went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Alonso Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eleuterio Fiz hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Florida Gulf Coast's Eleuterio Fiz got a free kick in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Luis Nardo in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Florida Gulf Coast's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luis Nardo came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru's Julian Murillo got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Luis Nardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luz Tejedor. Eleuterio Fiz made in the 67th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. With a little luck, Florida Gulf Coast's Luis Nardo got control of the ball when Milagros Fraga tried to sneak it across the goal line. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
