A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. Mattias Olofsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sigvard Frykberg during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jakob Palmkvist in the 21st minute. Torbjörn Brummer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 23rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Olofsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Hellqvist in the 27th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jakob Palmkvist. In the 33rd minute, Hugo Gernberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jakob Palmkvist got free with Dante Lacasa in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 38 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Jakob Palmkvist came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 40 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mexico's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pelle Smedfeldt was slow to take the kick. During this time StraX Xenon FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led StraX Xenon FC's Pelle Smedfeldt to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 52 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mattias Olofsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. StraX Xenon FC were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pelle Smedfeldt took the corner. The corner led StraX Xenon FC's Pelle Smedfeldt to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mattias Olofsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 58th minute of play. After a rather tough play, StraX Xenon FC's Villiam Johnsson got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 63 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Felix Luque. StraX Xenon FC's Rikard Arhenius was substituted for Hugo Gernberg. StraX Xenon FC made a substitution. Christer Zachrisson replaced Villiam Johnsson. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torbjörn Brummer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Mattias Olofsson made a huge save. In the 77th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but StraX Xenon FC's Mattias Olofsson did a great save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jakob Palmkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Mattias Olofsson made a huge save. Luca Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 87 minutes of play, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mattias Olofsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 93 minutes, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Gaona was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Mexico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mexico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
