Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EBK the free kick. 6 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cornelio Omero. After a rather tough play, EBK's Albino Mirande got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10thth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EBK's Marcelo Quexada was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, EBK's Eusko Zubicoeta got a free kick in the 15th minute. Marcelo Quexada came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Uruguay's Francisco Seco. But to his dismay, Francisco Seco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Betinho Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, EBK's Lisandro Martínez de Aldunate got a free kick in the 29th minute. Marcelo Quexada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Cazalla in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, EBK's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Seco came free, but Marcelo Quexada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Omero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Quexada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Quexada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38thth minute of the game Francisco Seco who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but EBK's Marcelo Quexada was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Camilo Covarrubias hit a great ball. Cornelio Omero recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cornelio Omero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The wind increased when Cornelio Omero made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornelio Omero in the 52nd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusko Zubicoeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 54 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cornelio Omero who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on EBK's corner Cornelio Omero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. In the 56th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Marcelo Quexada in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Cornelio Omero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in EBK's zone, Maximiliano Escribano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Quexada came out of the goal and Maximiliano Escribano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th match minute, EBK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eusko Zubicoeta to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Marcelo Quexada made a huge save. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelio Omero, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. In the 70th minute, Cornelio Omero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EBK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. 74 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cornelio Omero was slow to take the kick. During this time EBK's players had a chance to rest. EBK's Cornelio Omero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Joaquin Gayoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Betinho Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored EBK's protests and gave Betinho Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. After 83 minutes of play, EBK's Flavio Colon made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Cornelio Omero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Cornelio Omero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Quexada breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Marcelo Quexada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. EBK's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
