Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edelmiro Obano, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodrigo Velloso saved Patas Duras FC from getting behind. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erubiel Palben charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erubiel Palben the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erubiel Palben hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Velloso having to interfere. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. In the 21st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Erubiel Palben struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patas Duras FC. In the 24th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 played minutes Patas Duras FC got a freekick which was hit by Erubiel Palben. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play forced Patas Duras FC's goalkeeper Rodrigo Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodrigo Velloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 37th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodrigo Velloso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Zvonimir Turković managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patas Duras FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zvonimir Turković was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 55th minute, which Rodrigo Velloso however easily saved by the left post. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Osoro in the 59th minute of play. Pedro Troglio charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Troglio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rodrigo Velloso made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Saul Osoro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Patas Duras FC's Rodrigo Velloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Patas Duras FC from getting a goal against them. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Saul Osoro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th minute, Paulo Umbruso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patas Duras FC made a substitution. Mateo Poz replaced Erubiel Palben. A collision led to Patas Duras FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Paulo Umbruso hit a great ball. Patas Duras FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
