Gölle EAC's supporters crossed their fingers, but László Tihanyi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 34 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Anselmo Dunixi came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. In the 37th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Dunixi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Patricio Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anselmo Dunixi was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Anselmo Dunixi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anselmo Dunixi having to interfere. Lénárd Tóth charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lénárd Tóth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lénárd Tóth hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anselmo Dunixi saved Gölle EAC from getting behind. In the 57th match minute, Gölle EAC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lóránd Vörös to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Patricio Costa charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Costa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. László Tihanyi walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
