In the 5th minute, Felipe Ros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Ayapaso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Tim Zeigler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ayapaso FC's Felipillo Cotan got a free kick in the 9th minute. Panama's Tomas Berganza got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 22nd minute of play forced Ayapaso FC's goalkeeper Tim Zeigler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomas Berganza took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tim Zeigler. Tim Zeigler dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 25 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Dylan Sarmiento. Mohamed Bale could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. 28 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Mohamed Bale came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Luis Javier Fenieux notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Tim Zeigler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Tomas Berganza fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Tim Zeigler, passed just outside the right post. Abraham Alguacil, 63 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Torres in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Ayapaso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Berganza came free, but Tim Zeigler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abraham Alguacil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Tim Zeigler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mohamed Bale in the 79th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Felipillo Cotan, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Marcos Cotilla was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipillo Cotan in the 84th minute of play. Panama's Isidoro Sarmiento got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomas Berganza to maneuver through the defense. Abraham Alguacil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tim Zeigler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
