Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) In the 6thth minute of the game Przemyslaw Del Piero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rigoberto Mina charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rigoberto Mina the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Przemyslaw Del Piero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 17 played minutes GÓRNIK ZABRZE got a freekick which was hit by Bogumil Kempka. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Rigoberto Mina hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florian Marciewicz having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Domenico Muzzolon got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 27th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 36th minute, Erramun Villarreal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Przemyslaw Del Piero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Przemyslaw Del Piero slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 42nd minute. The supporters of Venezuela booed when GÓRNIK ZABRZE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogumil Kempka didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Przemyslaw Del Piero made a kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yngve Björklund in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Marciewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when GÓRNIK ZABRZE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogumil Kempka didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 65th minute, Przemyslaw Del Piero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in GÓRNIK ZABRZE's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florian Marciewicz came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Florian Marciewicz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The GÓRNIK ZABRZE fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
