Maximiliano Escribano scored 1-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Florian Marciewicz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Przemyslaw Del Piero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 28 minutes, Przemyslaw Del Piero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GÓRNIK ZABRZE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Przemyslaw Del Piero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yngve Björklund in the 75th minute of play. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Bruno Beldad hit a great ball. With a little luck, GÓRNIK ZABRZE's Florian Marciewicz got control of the ball when Maximiliano Escribano tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yngve Björklund in the 81st minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bogumil Kempka kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Uruguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
