Sandro Tepedino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sandro Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 19th minute of the match. In the 26th match minute, Que se abra o mar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Van Elsen to maneuver through the defense. In the 27th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sandro Tepedino showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sandro Tepedino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Tato Vega stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Tato Vega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 35th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Tepedino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 38th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 41st minute of play forced Que se abra o mar's goalkeeper Sandro Tepedino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sandro Tepedino quite easily take care of the ball. In the 44th match minute, Que se abra o mar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tato Vega to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Sandro Tepedino made a huge save. Que se abra o mar's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Sandro Tepedino, making the score, 1-2. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Sandro Tepedino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandro Tepedino having to interfere. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 77th minute, Baltazar Botelho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Felix Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Luis Andino's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Sandro Tepedino skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 88th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Que se abra o mar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Que se abra o mar's Sandro Tepedino did a great save.
