Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Roberto Trotta made a throw-in in the 74th minute of the game. 77 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Rigoberto Nazario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 80 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goalkeeper Rigoberto Nazario had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milagros Fraga. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Ruperto Matei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Argentinos Juniors's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eliseo Mina was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Milagros Fraga took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Rigoberto Nazario to make any attempt to save it. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
