Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Fabricio Rosalio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 15th minute of play. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Axel Tasiss short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Fabricio Rosalio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Rosalio having to interfere. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Fabricio Rosalio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aaron Alcocer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 played minutes Formentera got a freekick which was hit by Pastor Oriche. Costa Rica's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
