The audience thought a goal was coming when Eder Mangas got free with Benito Sanz in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The goalkeeper, Benito Sanz, was totally fooled by Real Armal F.C.'s Máximo Maestro, who 10 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 13th minute Raúl Gasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Eder Mangas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eder Mangas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Gasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Real Armal F.C. getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Eder Mangas hit a great ball. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. Raúl Gasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Raúl Gasso was the one to do the kick off. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Dionisio Figueres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dionisio Figueres. In the 65th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eder Mangas, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Raúl Gasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Armal F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Raúl Gasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 89th minute, Raúl Gasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Real Armal F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Gasso in the 93rd minute of play. Real Armal F.C.'s Eder Mangas got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Costa Rica players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Armal F.C..
