Júnior Marquez was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Mello having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Luca Espinar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Júlio Mello was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. Carlinhos Pinho charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlinhos Pinho the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Carlinhos Pinho got a free kick in the 36th minute. Júlio Mello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Júlio Mello showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Espinar in the 70th minute of the match. When Luizinho Cunha was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. Júlio Mello was a little too slow when Edmundo Espiga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 0-3. The INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Honduras were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
