The supporters of Staffordshire Terrier FC booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Indiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clive Holloway showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Staffordshire Terrier FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 40 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Tafalla. 42 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Yu Jie Xing came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Yu Jie Xing was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Orlando Tafalla got a free kick in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yu Jie Xing in the 52nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Clive Holloway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 56th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Clive Holloway threw himself towards the right post 58 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abram Sarmiento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 60th minute Santino Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clive Holloway saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 63 minutes Staffordshire Terrier FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Yu Jie Xing's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. Abram Secada struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Clive Holloway didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Colombia. The Colombia fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when Colombia's Ignacio Mastache looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Staffordshire Terrier FC's Alex Zanardi was substituted for Yu Jie Xing. After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Matt Sullivan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ignacio Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Clive Holloway made a huge save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Colombia eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
