Cristian Sancho scored 1-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan-Åke Jönsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 42 minutes into the match, Albins Kamrater's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Jan-Åke Jönsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jan-Åke Jönsson quite easily take care of the ball. In the 45th match minute, Albins Kamrater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Majtyka to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

With a little luck, Albins Kamrater's Jan-Åke Jönsson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Jan-Åke Jönsson in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Albins Kamrater's Jan-Åke Jönsson managed to reach the ball for a save. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
