An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurențiu Cinteză in the 2nd minute of play forced Los Golosos's goalkeeper Silvestre Vilalobos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Los Golosos's goal looked a bit too open when Pompiliu Roşculeţ came free, but Silvestre Vilalobos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 5th minute, Pompiliu Roşculeţ left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Hamburg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 8 minutes into the game, Los Golosos's Maximo Orain nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Volker Harm made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Frank Groth kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Los Golosos defense, Pompiliu Roşculeţ kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Silvestre Vilalobos. The Los Golosos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Silvestre Vilalobos should have stopped the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Los Golosos's goalkeeper Silvestre Vilalobos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laurențiu Cinteză. In the 24th minute, FC Hamburg's Thoralf Blohm dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Laureano Felipo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Volker Harm prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 28th minute of the match, Pompiliu Roşculeţ tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Silvestre Vilalobos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Silvestre Vilalobos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laurențiu Cinteză in the 29th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Laureano Felipo in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Volker Harm saved FC Hamburg from getting behind. In the 34thth minute of the game Laureano Felipo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Hamburg's Volker Harm was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC Hamburg's Volker Harm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Estevez in the 36th minute of play. Los Golosos were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after FC Hamburg's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Serafin Leguizamón took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of FC Hamburg's goalie and right to Doğan Pekin. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. FC Hamburg's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 39th minute, Batur Mahçup hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvestre Vilalobos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to FC Hamburg getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Thoralf Blohm hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hamburg's zone, Maximo Orain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Volker Harm came out of the goal and Maximo Orain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Laureano Felipo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 played minutes FC Hamburg got a freekick which was hit by Frank Groth. 56 minutes into the match, FC Hamburg's goalkeeper Volker Harm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laureano Felipo. After 58 minutes FC Hamburg's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Serafin Leguizamón who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Serafin Leguizamón got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Volker Harm quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Silvestre Vilalobos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ in the 59th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Doğan Pekin during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Doğan Pekin kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. FC Hamburg's Eduard Hilpert was substituted for Rainer Bethge. FC Hamburg made a substitution. Ilkay Gündoğan replaced Markus Heimrath. After 74 played minutes FC Hamburg got a freekick which was hit by Pompiliu Roşculeţ. In the 77th minute Los Golosos were awarded a corner. Silvestre Vilalobos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pompiliu Roşculeţ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Adrian Transito got free with Volker Harm in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serafin Leguizamón hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Los Golosos's Serafin Leguizamón got a free kick in the 83rd minute. With an all-out effort, Los Golosos's Volker Harm threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nicolas Estevez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Nicolas Estevez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Volker Harm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicolas Estevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. FC Hamburg's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
