The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jeronimo Avaria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 84th minute Naldo Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baudelio Santa Ana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, David Pizarro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Baudelio Santa Ana was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ernani Vargas. Baudelio Santa Ana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erland Slyngstad in the 94th minute. After 95 minutes Capo de Provincia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ernani Vargas who took care of the corner kick. Atlético Capixaba's Ernani Vargas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Baudelio Santa Ana in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Atlético Capixaba eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
