An unexpectedly hard shot by Pau Segarra in the 16th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. Nestor Firmin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 44 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats.
