After some careless play in the Bierunese defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Daniël Kromme. The Bierunese fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Daniël Kromme should have stopped the shot. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Daniël Kromme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 42 minutes into the game, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniël Kromme made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa got a free kick in the 46th minute. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ron Westerink stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 57 minutes, Ron Westerink managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bierunese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron Westerink was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Govert Teunisse charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Govert Teunisse the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Daniël Kromme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th match minute, Bierunese was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Job Zijden to maneuver through the defense.
