Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivar Björklund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 10 played minutes Pauliström got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Lundström. Pauliström's Malcolm Wall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 11th minute of play. 11 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Pauliström's Malcolm Wall. Malcolm Wall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Henry Näver got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 2-1. In the 25thth minute of the game Henry Näver who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 31st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivar Björklund in the 31st minute of play. Folke Melin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Folke Melin got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 43rd minute, George Beckeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Bengt-Åke Biörk took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Folke Melin made a kick off. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Henry Näver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute Folke Melin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Malcolm Wall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pauliström's goalkeeper Malcolm Wall, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry Näver, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Henry Näver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Henry Näver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 77 in the game by Tomas Illescas from a close distance when the talented Malcolm Wall managed to make a qualified save. Pauliström's players were relieved. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Bengt-Åke Biörk hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
