SC Conceição's Flávio Terra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 2nd minute of play. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Cristian Nevares tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 5th minute SC Conceição were awarded a corner. Tao Xing went to the cornerflag to take it. Joãozinho Amigo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joãozinho Amigo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Conceição fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! In the 10th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. At last the ball reached Felix Montes at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of SC Conceição. 0-1. The corner led SC Conceição's Tao Xing to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Flávio Terra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tao Xing charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tao Xing the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 23rd match minute, SC Conceição was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tao Xing to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flávio Terra showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Conceição's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Felix Montenegro made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that SC Conceição's Flávio Terra managed to reach the ball for a save. Flávio Terra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of SC Conceição's Flávio Terra. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cosme Artizar kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Flávio Terra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, SC Conceição's Flávio Terra got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 55thth minute of the game Cristian Nevares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Nevares in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosme Artizar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Flávio Terra managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cristian Nevares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cristian Nevares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Flávio Terra made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Conceição's Armindo Ribeiro was substituted for Kauã Rezende. Cristian Nevares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. SC Conceição's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tao Xing in the 90th minute. The corner led to SC Conceição's Armindo Ribeiro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When Williams Conner fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Conceição's protests and gave Williams Conner a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SC Conceição was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Williams Conner didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosme Artizar hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
