Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 80 minutes into the game, Jacinto Ponte threw the ball into play from the sideline. Honduras's Sebastian Villa quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Cecilio Avilés hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga tried to score from far away in the 82nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 84th minute, Cecilio Avilés hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filomeno Santana was out of position in the 86 minute of play, and Edmundo Espiga capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edmundo Espiga really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Sebastian Villa struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Filomeno Santana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras.
