Αστέρας's Vassilis Batzis got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ivan Navarro made in the 7th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sebastian Villa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eugenios Iordanis in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the match, Αστέρας's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Iraklis Vazakos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edmundo Espiga took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iraklis Vazakos. Iraklis Vazakos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After having played for 15 minutes, Eugenios Iordanis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Αστέρας's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eugenios Iordanis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luca Espinar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes, Edmundo Espiga made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Αστέρας's Iraklis Vazakos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After having played for 34 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Theocharis Violopoulos struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Αστέρας. After 43 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Esteban Carvallo. Eugenios Iordanis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vassilis Batzis came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Αστέρας fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vassilis Batzis couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eugenios Iordanis was the one to do the kick off. Eugenios Iordanis hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vassilis Batzis in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Αστέρας defense, Edmundo Espiga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iraklis Vazakos. The Αστέρας fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iraklis Vazakos should have stopped the shot. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iraklis Vazakos having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenios Iordanis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iraklis Vazakos having to make a save. After having played for 81 minutes, Vladimiros Sismanidis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Αστέρας's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladimiros Sismanidis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute, Vassilis Batzis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Iraklis Vazakos. Edmundo Espiga showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Eugenios Iordanis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. After 91 minutes, Manolis Dilberis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Αστέρας and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Manolis Dilberis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 92 played minutes Αστέρας got a freekick which was hit by Manolis Dilberis. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Theocharis Violopoulos during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Honduras booed when Αστέρας was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Theocharis Violopoulos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Αστέρας supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Honduras's performance. The match ended with a win for Honduras.
