Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Joel Gaona started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Emerson Whaley showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Luca Zorita heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 13 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Levi Cronin came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Irmantas Zenkevičius made in the 26th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Levi Cronin. 30 minutes into the match, AFC Richmond's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Emerson Whaley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Whaley having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Levi Cronin got free with Dante Lacasa in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Levi Cronin sent off a good shot on target. David Brochu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emerson Whaley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 39th minute of play. Emerson Whaley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 42nd minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irmantas Zenkevičius in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when AFC Richmond was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomáš Petráček didn't get a good kick on the ball. 48 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of AFC Richmond's Emerson Whaley. Emerson Whaley was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The AFC Richmond players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 0-1.

Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Emerson Whaley could save by the left post. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Emerson Whaley in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Emerson Whaley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Emerson Whaley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emerson Whaley having to interfere. In the 75th match minute, AFC Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Brochu to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emerson Whaley saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 77th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Emerson Whaley came out and tried to block the shot, but Alberto Tafalla slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 79th minute. AFC Richmond made a substitution. Erin Valencia replaced Ali Can. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 89 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Emerson Whaley. Lautaro Mancebo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Emerson Whaley was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lautaro Mancebo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 92 minute of play. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Emerson Whaley having to make a save. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 96th minute. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Emerson Whaley quite easily take care of the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
