Dedê Negri charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dedê Negri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gil Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Finlay Stair, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th match minute, Jamaica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romon Oliver to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roger Mesquita to strike the kick off in the second half. Silvinho Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demonde Jacobson having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Jamaica's zone, Erasmo Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Demonde Jacobson came out of the goal and Erasmo Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Roger Mesquita came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Nordestão Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roger Mesquita couldn't finish the play. Renato de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demonde Jacobson having to interfere. 74 minutes into the game, Nordestão Futebol Clube's Antônio Tinoco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Demonde Jacobson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 78 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Gil Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romon Oliver. Demonde Jacobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Mesquita in the 81st minute of the match. The supporters of Nordestão Futebol Clube booed when Jamaica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romon Oliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jarell Hill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Gil Carioca made a huge save.
