Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Svetlozar Karamihov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Manos Tsakalidis came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hector Bladi in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Svetlozar Karamihov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Bladi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Hector Bladi slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Primitivo Andino made in the 27th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Felix Montenegro however managed to control. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manos Tsakalidis in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match Big Babousa got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manos Tsakalidis ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 33rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svetlozar Karamihov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd match minute, Big Babousa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Millano to maneuver through the defense. After 46 played minutes Big Babousa got a freekick which was hit by Manos Tsakalidis. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

In the 57th minute Manos Tsakalidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Hector Bladi notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hector Bladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute. In the 73rd minute, Manos Tsakalidis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Svetlozar Karamihov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 78 minutes into the match, Big Babousa's Hector Bladi sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Odilon Bacete hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Big Babousa's Mauricio Padro was substituted for Hector Bladi. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Big Babousa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odilon Bacete didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Manos Tsakalidis came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Big Babousa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manos Tsakalidis couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauricio Padro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, Big Babousa could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
