Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ethan Stiles kicked off to start the match. Damien Blake kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Ethan Stiles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harvey Smith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doug Holyfield in the 43rd minute of the match. Uruguay's attentive Alberto Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Giles Le Saux made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. After 46 minutes, Ivor Sadler mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Shakhtar Donetsk and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, FC Shakhtar Donetsk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivor Sadler to maneuver through the defense. Harvey Smith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. If Ethan Stiles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Ethan Stiles suffered a concussion in the 54th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 53rd minute of the game. One of Uruguay:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Shakhtar Donetsk:s goal. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Bourne in the 60th minute of play. Harvey Smith made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 61st minute. When Uruguay's Francisco Seco in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Shakhtar Donetsk's goalie prevented a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Frankie Bourne in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Doug Holyfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Harvey Smith made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 72nd minute. Frankie Bourne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Frankie Bourne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Frankie Bourne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Franco to maneuver through the defense. After 98 played minutes, FC Shakhtar Donetsk's Doug Holyfield shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Shakhtar Donetsk reached it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for FC Shakhtar Donetsk.
