Martin Tudor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 7th minute of the match. Progresul Pitesti's Vasile Blănaru managed to work through Uruguay's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Vasile Blănaru dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Martin Tudor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 13th minute of play. Francisco Seco struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Martin Tudor didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Karol Czempa was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Leonard Moise kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Vasile Blănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 37 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vasile Blănaru. Maximiliano Escribano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Martin Tudor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 42 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's Vasile Blănaru sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 43rd minute, Camilo Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Uruguay from getting a goal against them. Karol Czempa kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Tudor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes into the match, Progresul Pitesti's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Martin Tudor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 78 minutes of play, Progresul Pitesti's Vasile Blănaru made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Progresul Pitesti's Martin Tudor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Progresul Pitesti from getting a goal against them.
