Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Márcio Varanda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Laurentino Fontes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Laurentino Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Márcio Varanda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mindelos Academy's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Laurentino Fontes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Paulo Eanes's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Eanes helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Mindelos Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Eanes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mindelos Academy's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Márcio Varanda came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Laurentino Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laurentino Fontes went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Deng Liang Qi hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. 44 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Márcio Varanda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laurentino Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. Márcio Varanda made a fantastic save in the 50th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 53rd minute Laurentino Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adriano Henriques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Laurentino Fontes placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Laurentino Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolomeo Roßberger in the 67th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mindelos Academy's Aprígio Neiva got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Márcio Varanda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Márcio Varanda made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 76 minutes, Adriano Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mindelos Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriano Henriques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeo Roßberger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After 84 minutes of play, Mindelos Academy's Adriano Henriques made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 91st minute Daniel Zorita suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Aldaír Caneira fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mindelos Academy's protests and gave Aldaír Caneira a yellow card for diving instead. Ecuador made a substitution. Luz Palacio replaced Daniel Zorita. After 93 played minutes Mindelos Academy got a freekick which was hit by Aldaír Caneira. Mindelos Academy's Márcio Varanda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Mindelos Academy from getting a goal against them. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Mindelos Academy were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
