Borys Biegun's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 32nd minute of play forced Nadodrze Wrocław's goalkeeper Lucjan Zbytniewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Borys Biegun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hugon Podowski in the 77th minute of play. Nadodrze Wrocław's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Wladyslaw Maciejewski in the 78th minute. The corner ended in Wladyslaw Maciejewski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Juan Sebastián Puig fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lucjan Zbytniewski quite easily take care of the ball.
