The corner led Mexico's Facundo Cadaval to fire away a dangerous shot which Tobias Billström despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 11th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lorenzo Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. Rune Tunander received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Rune Tunander slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 14th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernst Pettersson in the 19th minute of play. Tobias Billström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lautaro Mancebo's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hakkı Devrim Uçbay to strike the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Tobias Billström made a huge save. Leonardo Leoz hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. The supporters of Mexico booed when Drömelvan BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Göran Kjellqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Drömelvan BK's Tobias Billström got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line.
