Rolando Noboa made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Aquiles Mikolas sent off a good shot on target. Vinicio Rodriguez hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Micael Póvoas made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. Milagros Fraga scored 0-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo Rodriguez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peru were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Ernesto Guevara SyD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Rolando Noboa was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Marcos Tirso capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marcos Tirso really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. 30 minutes into the game, Peru's Julian Murillo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Enzo Rodriguez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When Ernesto Guevara SyD's Beto Almada in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pascual Bernat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. After the first half Peru were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Beto Almada was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcos Tirso in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute of the match, Luz Tejedor tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Enzo Rodriguez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Milagros Fraga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ernesto Guevara SyD's Lionel Richie was substituted for Beto Almada. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Tirso in the 61st minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Tirso came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enzo Rodriguez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Tirso in the 71st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 72 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Efraim Gilabert. After having played for 74 minutes, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Peru's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julian Murillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 86 minutes into the match, Ernesto Guevara SyD's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Enzo Rodriguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel Richie, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Anthony Alvarado hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. In the 92nd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Alvarado to maneuver through the defense.
