The referee ignored Athletis PR's protests and gave Caio Raminhos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Athletis PR getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Caio Raminhos hit a great ball. Wiliam Prado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Athletis PR's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
