In the 8th minute, Luisinho do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Lucas Moura tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 19th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute, Lucas Moura ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernan Chico got free with Julio Vera in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hernan Chico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wojciech Duda saved Los Hermanos CIMZ from getting behind. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patrick Meira. After having played for 43 minutes, Lucas Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Hermanos CIMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Moura was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Lucas Moura made the kick off in the second half. Los Hermanos CIMZ's Wojciech Duda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute of play. In the 55th minute, Lucas Moura made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ismael Pitta in the 58th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Moura in the 62nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Bittencourt made a great header on Los Hermanos CIMZ's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Los Hermanos CIMZ's Hernan Chico got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lucas Moura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Wojciech Duda made a huge save. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Los Hermanos CIMZ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Wojciech Duda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hernan Chico in the 86th minute of the match.
