Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Teofilo Cubillas in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Henrique Prada having to make a save. Henrique Prada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 39th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Prada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henrique Prada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 石朗思 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Henrique Prada in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 75 minutes malaiko's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Henrique Prada quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Ecuador booed when malaiko was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Madeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Henrique Prada in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute Gonçalo Pinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Norberto Granja's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Norberto Granja helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, malaiko's Norberto Granja got a free kick in the 92nd minute. 94 minutes into the match, malaiko's goalkeeper Henrique Prada had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. Henrique Prada was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 3-4. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
