After having played for 11 minutes, John Eriksson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Here Comes the Hammer's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Eriksson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Mexico booed when Here Comes the Hammer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Jönsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th match minute, Here Comes the Hammer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yu Xiong Yan to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the game, Here Comes the Hammer's Valdir Velloso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. A very good chance. Tord Spetz charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
