The audience was convinced that Robert Doicaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Baia was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. Karol Ruszkowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guido Vissenaeken's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Zgierskie Zlewy's Karol Ruszkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 22nd minute of play. Karol Ruszkowski came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Brugge United's Guido Vissenaeken. But to his dismay, Guido Vissenaeken quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Zgierskie Zlewy's Enginalp Kayaalp got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute Guido Vissenaeken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karol Ruszkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enginalp Kayaalp got a throw-in 39 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Zdzislaw Moczkiewicz. Sandro Gaúcho hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 44th minute, Seyhun Zati hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karol Ruszkowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Vissenaeken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guido Vissenaeken in the 47th minute of play forced Zgierskie Zlewy's goalkeeper Karol Ruszkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Brugge United's Arnauld Van Impe was substituted for Guido Vissenaeken. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arnauld Van Impe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Aureliusz Kosakowski fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zgierskie Zlewy's protests and gave Aureliusz Kosakowski a yellow card for diving instead. Aureliusz Kosakowski hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Karol Ruszkowski made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Arnauld Van Impe sent off a good shot on target. 60 minutes into the match, Hadi Özilhan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vítor Baia. Brugge United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hadi Özilhan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Brugge United's Laurențiu Roşculeţ managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Enginalp Kayaalp in the 63 minute of the game. Karol Ruszkowski was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Arnauld Van Impe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnauld Van Impe really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. 71 minutes into the match, Brugge United's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Doicaru came free, but Vítor Baia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Karol Ruszkowski made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Arnauld Van Impe sent off a good shot on target. The Zgierskie Zlewy supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Brugge United's performance. The match ended with a win for Brugge United.
