Emanuel Ocampo kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Moises Tafalla charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Moises Tafalla the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute of the match Marc Juhlin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lautaro Navarro skillfully saved the ball. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Ove Hake was a little too slow when Edmundo Espiga got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 0-4. Nils Liedholm IF's Ove Hake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 59th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jörgen Bjurström's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Birger Kleen in the 68th minute of play. Ove Hake showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After having played for 72 minutes, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Ove Hake in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edmundo Espiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Ove Hake made a huge save. Ove Hake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honduras's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
